As drivers we typically inject our vehicles with "regular" gasoline, unless of course our vehicle is in need of a particular type, like diesel.
But have we ever asked ourselves if the more expensive gas would be beneficial for our vehicle?
Probably not, since I most likely lost you at "more expensive"; believe me, I feel the same!
However, although our vehicles do not need the more expensive gas and adding regular gas is just fine, there is a benefit.
Apparently the higher the octane rating, the more our engines can advance timing.
Meaning, when we use regular gas we are lowering our octane gas, which then lowers our output, power and gas mileage.
In conclusion, when adding a more expensive gas to our vehicle it actually does improve the vehicle's performance and you are not just paying for a brand name.
