If you have heated seats in your vehicle, then they are probably one of your favorite features. There is nothing quite like being able to sit in your vehicle with heated seats on a brisk day or a chilly evening. So, when they do not work like they are supposed to it can be super frustrating. A faulty heated seat can result from a number of things, so let’s address each of them.
If your heated seats stopped working for you, here is what you need to do.
- It could most likely be that a fuse is blown. If so, you can simply replace it. Often times, this is the simplest but most overlooked solution. Locate your fuse box in your car and simply check and/or replace the fuse that corresponds to your heated seats.
- If that does not fix the issue, check under the seat. This is where you will find the main wires that plug into the wiring harness. Make sure that the electrical wire is intact and free from any debris and that the connection site is tight and secure.
- You can also check that the 12 volts are showing on both sides while the heated seats are turned on. If they aren't, you will want a service technician to have a look and properly diagnosis the issue, so they can fix it!
These tips may seem elementary, but they could save you money in the long run. If you have run through all these tips and still have no heat on your seat, it’s time to call in the professionals.
